Where your code actually goes.
Maxxwell runs on your machine. There is no Maxxwell account and no Maxxwell server. This page says plainly what that does and does not mean.
The desktop app
Maxxwell supervises the coding agents you already run, on your own computer. It has no analytics and no crash-reporting client — there is no PostHog, Sentry, Amplitude or comparable SDK in the application.
Your source code, your prompts and your session transcripts go to the model provider whose API key or subscription you supply — Anthropic for Claude Code, OpenAI for Codex — under that provider's terms, exactly as they would if you ran those tools without Maxxwell. They are not sent to Rindler, and we cannot read them.
This website
maxxwell.dev uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics, chiefly to count
how many people reach the download buttons. It is served through a same-origin proxy at
/ph, so no request goes to a third-party host from your browser. No account, email
address, or name is collected, because the site never asks for one.
The site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts.
Downloads
Application builds are hosted on GitHub Releases. When you download one, GitHub receives that request under GitHub's privacy statement. We see only the aggregate count.
What we never have
- Your code, prompts, diffs, or agent transcripts.
- Your API keys or provider credentials — they stay on your machine.
- An account for you, because there is no sign-up.
